Partner with Project Water

Through Project Water, Africa 6000 International is committed to drilling unlimited, fresh water wells across the continent of Africa, providing whole villages with easily- accessible, clean water. These wells are deep water wells, assuring our efforts will meet the needs of the people in nearby villages for a lifetime.  By partnering with us, you and your company, corporation, business, church, school or family can sponsor a well and know you are saving the lives of thousands of people, many of them children. A fresh water well can cost $10,000 to $15,000 depending on the difficulty of the terrain, the number of attempts it takes and the depth at which the water is found. Africa 6000 International is a subsidiary of WorldServe International, a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, and all proceeds are tax-deductible.

Water Bottle Project

Africa 6000 International now has its own bottled water. Our goal is to get this water marketed in as many venues as possible. If you’re interested in partnering to drill a water well and would like to use our bottled water as a fundraising tool, please contact us at the Africa 6000 office: (814) 878-4419. It’s a simple way of fund-raising. We provide the bottled water and you sell it. Either 100% of the profits can be invested toward the drilling of a well, or you can also use it as a fundraising tool for your group or organization. You can sell the water with half of the profits going toward your own fundraising project and the other half going to Africa 6000 International. Use as much creativity as you want in the selling of “Project Water’s” bottled water and have fun with it.

Four ways to adopt a well

2008 Fundraiser

Get creative.  Set your goal and then come up with some fun, fundraising activities throughout the year to meet that goal.

Example #1: One local business had a weekly dress down day and employees had to pay to participate.  The funds collected went toward an Africa 6000 International water well.

Example #2: Two girls at Villa Maria High School took on construction of an Africa 6000 International water well for their senior project.  Christa Agnello and Elizabeth Rahner, both of Erie, Pennsylvania, called their project Drops of Hope.  They sent out community letter to raise private donations. They also spoke at local churches on weekends taking up collections, had special t-shirts printed up and sold them during special school hours, and held a school dance competition.  The end result, they raised $10,000 for a well at St. Jude children's school in Tanzania, Africa.  We are so proud of them! Example #3:

"Lemonade for Charity"

Four Erie Day School children decided they wanted to do a summer project to help the children in Africa.  On their own they came up with the idea of setting up a lemonade stand to raise money to help drill a water well for Africa 6000 International. Over several months they came up with a business plan, made flyers and then set up their stand.  Thank you so much Christina, Jacquleine, Nicole and Nathan for your hard work and donation of $151! You're awesome.

Company Match Plan

Have an educational day where employees are made aware of the need in Africa.  Then encourage them to apply a certain amount of their wages to help construct a well in your company, corporation, business, church or schools name.  You would then match a certain portion of that donation. Example: A local Financial Investment Firm began an employee match in December of 2007 and currently matches, dollar for dollar, the amount each employee contributes.

Holiday Fundraiser

Instead of a company gift exchange this year, educate your employees, students or parishioners as to the desperate need for fresh water in Africa, and then set a gift-giving amount for each participant with the intent of giving enough to construct an Africa 6000 International water well.

Overall Donation

Give what you can. Donate a portion or the entire drilling and construction cost of an Africa 6000 International water well.

As part of Project Water, Africa 6000 International's Executive Director, Teresa Murtland, is available to visit with your employees, students, parishioners or family grouping at your request, to explain the desperate need for fresh water in Africa.  She will bring along videos, handouts and brochures helpful to the success of your Project Water Fundraiser. If you wish to finance the construction of an entire well, that well will be dedicated in your name with a plaque mounted at the drilling site.  We can also provide pictures of this for you or can arrange for you to accompany us on a future corporate trip to Africa to see the well for yourself.

Prischak We appreciate anything you can do to help us help these children.  One child death a day is too much, let alone six thousand!  From the bottom of my heart, I implore you to help and I thank you!

Sincerely,
Joseph Prischak
